A Light in the Dark increases in price on Tuesday morning. If you want it for $6.99, you need to make sure you preorder from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Apple, or Kobo. Patreon will be priced at $7.99. All other vendors will likewise be moved immediately to $7.99. (You might be able to catch them in the early morning hours for $6.99, but don’t count on it.)
The book was significantly longer than planned.
I will be back on Tuesday with first chapters of each book, links to all the live vendors, a link to the Patreon store, and so on.
If you shop on the four vendors listed above, check if you’ve preordered A Light in the Dark and care about the $1 difference. If not, carry on! If so, here’s your last chance to get it at the lowered rate.
As a reminder, I price my books generally based on length and investment for writing them. 70,000 words is typically my starter point for $6.99, with a preference of closer to 80,000 words. 120,000 words is my starter point for $7.99.
I scale up / down from there. (Why the variance between 70-80k words? Simple: some of those 70k word books take a LOT of research to do. That research takes time. So, I will decide if a book is priced at $6.99 at the 70,000 word mark dependent on how much time/effort investment went into the book.)
Older titles often keep their lower price points, although if I go back and do another editing pass on them, their price is increased to reflect the improved quality (and time spent) on the book.
You’ll often see this happen when a book goes on $0.99 sale; I will do another editing pass to clean up stuff before putting it on sale for $0.99, and after the sale, it will be at the more modern price point.
There is method to the madness, I promise!
I hope you all have a fabulous weekend… and yes, Patreon subscribers in the appropriate tiers will be receiving their books today.

Please accept my admiration for knowing and valuing your worth. Refreshing in this day and age. I am sorry you need to justify your efforts/pricing but your readers will buy your great books, regardless.
