Dear humans,
We have returned. Again. The sky is a little orange here, the air is clogged with smoke, and the female is feeling a bit murderous today. As such, we are limiting our general commentary, as nobody needs us bad mooding all over the place (even more than the female has already bad mooded all over the place today.)
So, let’s get this show on the road!
Forever Marked by Rinna Ford. (Book 4 of The Marked Series.)
Genre: Paranormal Romance.
Emelia thought claiming her caster mate, Ronan, would bring her one step closer to the peaceful life she craves. She couldn’t have been more wrong. Her mates are at each other’s throats, and she hasn’t been able to communicate with her father for weeks, not to mention that they are once again in hiding after the latest Council attack. No, her life is far from peaceful.
The prophecy states that Emelia will be the one to free them all; to bring harmony to the chaotic and divided supernatural community, but she knows she can’t do it alone. She will need to trust her allies, old and new, as well as herself and her mates. But when the dust settles, will it be enough? Can she defeat the ruling Council and save the ones she loves?
The end of the prophecy is here, but is Emelia strong enough to be the savior she’s meant to be?
Warnings: 18+ due to sexual themes and content. Reverse Harem/Polyamorous relationships.
This book is available for preorder, and it will be available in the kindle unlimited library. As such, it is available on Amazon only. It is $1.99, and will release on November 21, 2020.
Our thoughts: Hello, darkness my old friends…. We think this is probably a super dark read, just judging from the cover and general description. As reverse harem isn’t the female’s thing, she has no idea if this series is any good, but here you go. Series to be completed in November for those of you who like to start a series just as it’s ending.
We do admit we like her hair color, but we wish the cover was not so dark as to devour any and all details from the cover itself. We like looking for cute details on covers, and this one is all about the darkness. Even her face is blotted out by the darkness. This makes us sad.
Insatiable by Annalise Clark (Mystic River Vampire Academy Year One)
Genre: Paranormal (New Adult)
So here we are – cat’s outta the bag. I got bitten by a vampire, and that activated my recessive vamp gene, so now, I’m turning into a vampire, too. Suffice to say, it’s not pretty. It hurts like hell and I get mad cravings and want to rip out the throats of completely innocent people nearby.
And that’s why they’re sending me to vampire school.
I barely passed school the first time around. It was boring and repetitive, and the other kids were mostly all idiots or jerks.I did not need a repeat.
But it was either attend Vampire Academy and learn the “ways of the modern vampire” or be killed. Yeah, that’s for real.
They were just gonna put me down like some rabid raccoon.
As much as I didn’t want to go back to school at years old, I also didn’t want to die, so I suppose it was a choice between the worst of two evils. Today, school won.
And that’s how I found myself standing before the giant wrought-iron gates of Mystic River Vampire Academy, the greatest hidden gem of Mystic, Connecticut. I promise you, this sleepy little historic town had no idea what was really going on behind those gates.
The thing about Vampire Academy was, if you didn’t pass, you didn’t survive. The only way vamps got to survive these days was by playing by the rules.
Unfortunately for me, I’d never much cared for rules…
Warnings: 18+ only; sexual content and other adult matters are included.
This book is enrolled in Kindle Unlimited, so it is available only at Amazon. $2.99.
Our thoughts: We actually checked the font against Twilight because the female has aphantasia, and she was like “Isn’t that the twilight font?” We do not know if it’s precisely the same exact font, but yeah. We’re going to step out on a limb and guess Clark is looking for readers who also like Twilight.
The female didn’t mind Twilight, but she didn’t like it enough to actually finish reading it precisely. She got bored about halfway through or something like that, chucked it into the maybe later list, and moved on. We’re sorry if this disappoints any of you. It wasn’t bad, and she absolutely thinks it’s wonderful when readers find a series they love. (So keep rereading Twilight if that’s your thing.)
So, if Twilight is up your alley, maybe this book will be up your alley, too. Or if you like the Twilight font. I mean, hey. It’s a cool font.
Lucky Strike by Catherine Banks (Her Super Harem #1)
Genre: Superhero/Contemporary Fantasy (Reverse Harem)
I promised I’d never again wait to be saved. I’d become a hero. But first, I needed to survive.
Being a hero’s girlfriend isn’t really all it’s cracked up to be; especially when most of my free time is spent being kidnapped.
My life had been broken down into a redundant and boring routine of abductions, rescues, and overinflated egos before I took an involuntary swim in a giant health code violation.
Life was black and white to me then, but now? It’s a grey area.
Between monster invasions, conspiracies, and juggling my own core values, I’ll need all the support I can get. But who can I trust?
Something is amiss in the Association – a threat to the virtues and morals all heroes are sworn to uphold. I’m determined to expose it… Or them.
With three dashing heroes and a handsome villain by my side, there’s no way I can fail. The people, the heroes, and the world all depend on our success. It doesn’t mean it’s going to be easy. But then, they don’t call me Lucky for nothing.
Warnings: None. (It is a reverse harem if you’re not interested in that sort of thing.)
This book is enrolled in Kindle Unlimited, so it is available only at Amazon. $4.99.
Our thoughts: First, a disclaimer. Cat is one of the female’s best friends. We are utterly biased. Plus, we kinda love everything about this character. It’s not up our alley, but… Cat is one of the female’s best friends.
Things Cat and Erin do:
- 1: Kidnap the female.
- 2: Feed the female.
- 3: Feed the female.
- 4: Lure the female into strange vehicles with the promise of food.
- 5: Take the female to the store of books.
- 6: Feed the female.
As such, everybody on Earth should buy their books.
We rest our case.
Happy reading, humans!
