It was roadtrip time in the Blain household. We left on Friday to go to Paso Robles to see a show. We saw Jim Gaffigan, and he was amazing. There were no cameras/pictures allowed at the venue, but we were pretty close. Our truck is longer than the distance from where we were seated and he was doing his routine. It was pretty badass.
I pick the best vacations.
While the folks on the short story patreon got a sneak peek at these pictures, I wanted to share some of the photos from the hotel we stayed at (Allegretto Vineyard) and CA-1 northbound between Cambria and Monterey.
First off, here are the pics from the venue. Caption mentions which camera I took the photo with. (I got me some new-to-me cameras!)
We then headed to the Elephant Seal Vista, not expecting to actually see any elephant seals because it wasn’t prime elephant seal season. The elephant seals were… plentiful.
They’re also much larger than I expected.
The above photograph is from my bloopers real. I did not want the elephant seals there. They decided they would bomb my pretty landscape. Rude elephant seals!
As the poor Nikon J2 is not really equipped for taking photos from a moving vehicle (wrong age/style of camera), the iPhone is gets the rest of the pictures. Enjoy this picture tour of CA-1!
Have a wonderful day, everyone!

So happy that you had some fun. The photos are nice also. Especially being photo bombed by the elephant seals.

Beautiful photos! Sounds like you had a wonderful time. Thanks for sharing your trip with us. One question, do you know if that tunnel in the photo that is 4th from the bottom has a name? It looks totally cool!
