The Many Deaths of Mr. Magoo: a Magic Moguls Novel!

What is this? A new project? Yes!

Starting on Monday, Cindercorns and Spicy Ponies with Bite (Patreon) will be embarking on a new adventure with me.

We’re going to go through the entire creation process of a pilot novel. I have flagged the story as “A Magic Moguls Novel” in case the pilot does well. If not, the book is a standalone, and there’s no harm no foul. (I will not be presenting the story as a series for book one. Unless the novel hits certain sales targets, it will stay a standalone. If it does well, I’ll work on a second book with a similar theme. And yes, the sales targets are for retail, because that ultimately decides what’s commercially viable. (I love all y’all on Patreon, but Patreon alone can’t pay for ALL the bills, however lovely that would be… so I do have to monitor commercial viability.)

This sort of novel can become a series, but unless it performs well, I’ll be happy to let a random standalone ride off into the sunset. (We don’t need any more failed series cluttering things up.)

I’m just giving myself the possibility of more books.

How this will work:

Cindies and Spicies will journey with me, step by step, on how The Many Deaths of Mr. Magoo comes to life. In the first post about the story, I will discuss the inspiration for it. (And talk some shit about a beloved friend. She’s good with it, so don’t worry.)

I will then do a post about the creative process for the cover art. (It will be an object cover, which will HOPEFULLY convince the Mag Rom Com crowd that no, Magic Moguls is NOT in the same world as the Mag Rom Com series.)

Is it a mag rom com type novel?

All signs point to yes.

The third post will discuss plotting. (I will remove spoilers so the magic of the read along portion is not lost.)

Like other books in the WIP grouping, most of the book will be posted but not all of it. (There’s typically a 1-2 month gap from the last chapter to the release of the book, sometimes a little longer. I do this because I’m an entity of TRUE FUCKING EVIL.)

What? I’m evil. I’ve accepted this. I’m pure, pure blissful evil. Bask in the glow of evil with me.

Yes, Otter+ will get the book when it’s completed and ready for publication.

But what makes this different from other read alones?

There will be stages in the writing of the Many Deaths of Mr. Magoo in which I will put up polls. These polls will allow readers to “Choose their own adventure.” The top poll will win, and that is what will happen in the book. (Please note that all ideas will be mine, you will just be picking which idea is being used whenever I have numerous possibilities.)

This is your chance to be heavily involved with the creative process of a book.
