Dear humans,
The male was mean to the female. He made her get rid of the desk she’s had for fifteen years. (That’s almost my entire lifespan, female! It was old! Let it die!) It was bad for her back and neck.
She now has one that goes up and down at her whim. It looks like this:
The mug is new. It came in the mail today. She is drinking tea in it. It pleases her. The desk is white. This does not please her. At all. She wanted espresso. She got white instead. Now everything is all clashy on her desk rather than pretty on her desk.
She has accepted this is reality.
Fun fact: The riser is taped to the desk. The iMac is taped to the riser. She says this calms her anxiety.
Humans are weird.
So, things have happened. I am here to tell you of these things!
1: Blood Bound has released. Hooray! Good job, female. It is available at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, Apple Books, and Google Play.
2: There’s a really fancy giveaway for a swanky gift card here, meant for people who use Bookbub. If you don’t use Bookbub, considering signing up. You get emails with quality book deals daily, and you can reliably find out about new author releases from them. The female loves Bookbub.
3: Cold Flame comes out on February 18, 2020. That’s a little more than two weeks away! Hooray! We’re excited. It’s doing the editorial thing now. With the editor people.
4: Dirty Deeds is up for voting at all author. We would really appreciate if you took a moment to go vote. If you use facebook, if you vote, you can report that you voted on this post, which will give you an entry into a giveaway.
5: The title of the Magical Romantic Comedy (with a body count) is entitled Doggone Mess. Rebecca Frank will be doing the cover. The female has fun plans for this book. The version in the anthology will classify as a short novel. The solo version (which will release half a year to a year later) will be extended and include some bonus material.
The female hopes you all will enjoy both versions of the story, and she may even host a giveaway for those who are able to identify the subtle differences between the anthology version and the solo version. (It would be a form with questions. If you answer correctly, you’re put into the draw. If you answer incorrectly, you’re put into the draw, but it’s for a lesser prize.)
The female enjoys overcomplicating things.
I recommend preordering Dirty Deeds using the pretty link above. (The better books do during preorder, the better my treats! I’ve got this figured out.)
6: My toe beans are the cutest.
7: Regarding the Royal States: everything will be getting an overhaul in the next few months. If you like the current covers, and you want them in paperback, please order them now. By April, they’ll be gone.
The entire series is being rebranded to help connect better with new readers.
8: Mass Market editions of the Magical Romantic Comedy (with a body count) series should be coming out by the end of March if all goes well. These are replacing the former trim size. We’re really sorry to those who like matching bookshelves. We’re making this change to be more accessible to people with visual impairments, as the books use a much larger font size.
9: The sequel to Blood Bound (Silent Stalker) will be started when the female reaches a certain sales goal. Once the sales goal is reached, she will start working on it on the side, and it’ll release when it’s ready or the female does a brief preorder cycle. (It will not be put on the standard schedule of preorders. Unless it does a lot better than she anticipates. This is a labor of love series and this pilot was to test the waters… but she loves the story so much she wants to continue it, so she is. But she has to do so reasonably, much like she had to with Jesse/Water Viper. It will happen. She HOPES it will happen within the next year.)
Her current plan is to write it in 2021.
10: House Lost at Sea has over 5,000 words of new material in it, and a lot of things have been changed from the old story. While the plot line is similar, and the story does progress through the same basic events, there is a whole new facet that completely changes the tone and color of Catalina.
11: The female is working on Murder Mittens on the side. Rejoice!
That’s all. Have a great night, humans.
P.S.: If you purchased Blood Bound and the vendors sent you right to chapter one, there’s a dedication.

“Humans are weird.”
There MIGHT be three more true words.
I do NOT pretend to know what they might be.
Humans are weird.
Indeed.

Read blood bound, gave it a 5 star rating. Enjoyed the characters and plot a lot. Will look forward to the next book. So far I have truly enjoyed all your books and plan to keep getting them even when I am on a low budget. Please keep enjoying your good work. Love your imagination. Thanks a lot.

I read your dedication to your friend and it’s clear that you loved him (in the purest sense of the word) very much and that he has left a space in your life that will be difficult to fill. But as long as you remember him, he will live on in you. He would have been proud of this book – and of you and your imagination. Well done!

I voted on Dirty Deeds (natch), but also went through the list and voted for a number of others. There are some excellent covers here (but a whole heck of a lot of “meh” ones too). Looking forward to Cold Flame!

I adored Blood Bound. I really hope it does well as I am looking forward to the next book.

Sorry about these questions, but I tried in vain to find the info on the site (must have been lost when the previous website was incinerated).
a) Why is the Royal States series being re-branded with new covers, when the originals are so good? I can’t see you spending hard-earned money re-inventing the wheel unless it were necessary, but I just can’t figure out what the reason might be. (The original Null and Void cover is one of my favourites, as the kick-ass blonde in a leather jacket and scarf matches my mental image of Mackenzie far better than the revised one. However, I do prefer the final Storm Called cover to the planned one… Pat is a particular favourite of mine, which is why I can hardly wait for Taken to come out!)
b) While looking up .jpg files of the original covers so I could save copies for my private viewing only, I found covers of books titled “Blue Moon”, “Broken Trusts” (majorly kick-ass cover btw), and “Pretty Little Thief” that sound intriguing just from the titles. Are these in the “maybe some day” pile, or the “just ain’t happening” pile? May I ask why, and what the original premise was for these novels?
Yes, I know I’m being quite snoopy – my alter ego must be either a cat or an African pygmy hedgehog, both of which are just as nosy as me LOL.
Thank you in advance for indulging my curiosity 🙂

Dear human,
a) the covers aren’t selling the books, and Bookbub isn’t taking them for US deals, so they don’t have broad market appeal. The female likes the covers, but they’re a marketing tool, and when the marketing tool doesn’t work, it needs to be replaced.
b) they are in the one day pile. Broken Trusts and the other two in the trilogy will not be changed, as they’re branded to themselves and happen before the main series. Blue Moon and Pretty Little Thief will have new covers.
I am keeping the premise of those a secret for now.
<3 You're welcome, human!

Thank you very much for satisfying my curiosity – for now!
It’s a shame that the old covers weren’t appreciated as they deserved, but at least my little JPG stash will keep me happy visually while I anticipate the stories to come. Now that I’m getting back into my family history research I won’t get TOO impatient… hmmm…

Love Blood Bound and the cover is fantastic..voted

Loved Blood Bound! I can’t wait for the next book. Squeal! I have pre-ordered Dirty Deeds but now I need to make sure I order the stand alone since it will have more stuff. Oh no! I have to order another book from one of my most favorite authors. Whatever shall I do? (Dramatically dropping into my chair with my hand to my forehead.) I have realized that I have a book on pre-order from you once a month! It makes me very happy. Please keep writing and I will keep pre-ordering!

The fainting couch is that way. We wouldn’t want a delicate little reader to be hurt. We just added fluffy pillows for your fainting enjoyment.
