Dear humans,
Due to reasons, including delaying the second Seeking the Zodiacs novel until the time is more prudent (and respectful) for such a book to be published, the female has felt need to share the updated plan and schedule for the rest of 2020 through May of 2021.
This may be changed depending on Life, the Universe, and Everything.
Since we have been asked this several times, we have put together a quick and dirty list of ways readers can help writers. There are other ways, but these are the most useful. (And yes, the money does matter for authors.)
1: If you have a KU subscription and the author is in KU, please check out the book first, read it all the way through (as you would normally) and return it. Assuming you loved the book and wish to continue supporting the author, purchase the book. Only after you purchase the book should you review the book. This will give you the ‘verified review’ flag, which is very helpful for KU authors. It also gives them more money. You can also gift a copy of the book to a friend.
2: If your favorite authors are wide and you wish to show them additional financial support, please by an additional ebook copy from another vendor or gift a copy to a friend.
3: Review the book, especially if you love it. The reviews are for consumers, not for the author, so while the female generally will not read the reviews, especially the negative ones, they can help other readers decide if they want to give the book a try.
4: Tell your friends. If you see a book from a favorite on sale, share it as a public post. (That lets other people share the sale with others. Friends only posts have a very restricted ‘reach.’ You want people to see the posts.
5: Mention the authors in posts where people ask for recommendations and why you love the book and who you think will also love the book.
Onto the books!

What 2021 May Hold…
Yeah. Things have changed. Instead of independent releases of shorter Magical Romantic Comedies, they’ll likely be bundled into Expansion Packs. It becomes prohibitively expensive to maintain covers for the shorter projects, so getting one cover for a bunch of titles is for the best. Plus, it opens the field for short stories and slices of life from previous characters, who have little tales left in them but not complete novels.
Expect the sequels for the following novels to be transitioned to Expansion Packs.
- Last but not Leashed
- Owl Be Yours
- Serial Killer Princess
- Fowl Play
Here are novels that the female has short story ideas for but no novella or longer projects in mind… yet. That could change.
- Hoofin’ It (Try not to scream too much, humans.)
- Cheetahs Never Win
- Hoofin’ It the Parents Edition
- Hoofin’ It the Non-Romantic Vampires Edition
(Try not to scream too much, humans…)
- Some Chief Queeny stuff. Because his perspective during the models incident would just be divine.
- The female no longer remembers what she has written.
- Blending In the Parents Edition
- Hearth, Home, and Havoc because the female really misses Dakota.
No promises, so try not to ambush her asking when. The Expansion Packs will show up when they show up, but moving them to that sort of release is best for her.
General Updates on Promised Things…
Jesse Alexander: Okay, so the entire Jesse Alexander series is a little dark, there is a lot of mayhem and death, and there’s more death. The death part of things isn’t changing between books 3 and 4. And the collection. The female has an entire binder dedicated to the collection.
But with things as stressful as they are, every time the female starts to look at doing something with Jesse Alexander, the risk of vomiting happens.
Delayed until further notice. Hoping for late 2021 for something, but until the female stops trying to throw up every time she digs out the binder and starts working on the projects, it’s kinda a non-starter. Her schedule is too packed right now to add vomiting to it.
(We wish we were joking about the vomiting. Stressing one’s self to a state of vomiting is a real thing, by the way. So, she has set Jesse aside for a little while, until self-isolation and similar ease up, or she has caught up with work. Or the mood for that sort of world kicks in hardcore. Right now, she’s more about the funny than the drama.)
Let’s just say some parts of Booked for Murder have been interesting.
Seeking the Zodiacs: See Jesse Alexander, added bonus of way too many similarities to current events for it to be socially responsible to release. The female is possibly going to start serious work on the sequel trilogy, which only lightly references the Seeking the Zodiacs series, so it can be worked on before Zodiacs is over.
Spoiler alert: the female writes happily ever fucking afters, okay? It should come as zero surprise to you that Olivia and her delicious Detective Hunk will survive the series, thus have honorable mentions in the sequel.
No, neither character will actually show up in the sequel.
(And then one day, the female will not write a happily ever fucking after, the pitchforks will come out, and the female will be brutally murdered. Us furry assholes will laugh.)
Fox Witch: The female will be continuing to write this trilogy as scheduled, which means she will be starting the next book as soon as the first one is finished.
Dawn of Dae/Dae Portals: In good news, Dawn of Dae has barely earned back its base expenses. Hooray!! That means ‘as soon as she gets the time’ she will do the update to Unawakened and get it released. It will be a live drop. It could show up anytime between a month from now into 2021. Editor’s sanity, Author’s sanity, and time to edit all determine.
Considering how much new material made it into Dawn of Dae, we’re expecting Unawakened to take several months to edit.
Please enjoy this random cat picture inserted into your book news.
Royal States/Agents of the Royal States: As get done, send to editor, cavewoman bang rocks, make noise.
Bernadette Franklin: Murder Floof will be the next Bernadette Franklin novel to be written/released. No ETA. It’ll happen when it happens.
This is a very pretty murder floof, making friends with the female’s honey rock.
You shall be updated as updates become available, humans. Have a great day!

I love the idea of expansion packs! And don’t worry yourself over Jesse, we can wait as long as you give us more happily ever afters.

Agreed!!!!

I’m so excited by the expansion packs! The MRCWABC series is my go-to read when life is getting me down, especially Playing with Fire. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve read/listened to it and I’ve often wished we had another book giving the story from Chief Queeny’s perspective ?
Kris
Would rather have you well and writing , so don’t stress out ! All three or is it four of your incarnations are great and am really enjoying the books in all the series I have read. Ignore the furry assassins lol.
Karen
I am so looking forward to the expansion packs and happy that the Author is doing things to make it easier on herself 🙂

Thank you for the updated list and please don’t stress barf. That just sounds really painful and a great way for having someone start to hate something instead of enjoying it.
Valerie
Health first, if you’re not healthy, we readers have to wait. We will be patient, we have cats to calm us too. I delude myself that they love me, and not just the opposable thumbs.
Michele
Thanks for the update. I have preordered everything on your list and will do the same whatever comes. Please stay healthy (no stress, no vomiting) as much as possible.
deborah fort
looking forward to expansion packs as for Zodiacs will miss them but understandably , why the delay but maybe there will be some short stories for Olivia and friends. some of the when Olivia was getting a handle on her power hints sounded fun plus maybe a hint on children would be fun in the next few years.
Marijke van Nieuwstadt
Ending for the Rift King at any point in the future? Kinda left us hangin.
The Sneaky Kitty Critic
Not explicitly. I will be releasing the final box set at one time, so it will be a collection of four or five books all released at one time. (The stories just are not profitable, and I can’t justifying paying for a cover for each book, so they’ll be released in one set to mitigate my investment so I can still release the books.)
