Dear humans,
We’re sorry. (But we’re not that sorry.) Let us explain: for the first time in five years, the female is taking off for the holidays. She deserves time with the male. This is the beginning and the ending of that story. Without moving Plaidypus, she couldn’t do that. Moving to May was the sensible time to move it, preventing a backlog of books and crunched deadlines.
That means there will be changes to the publication schedule. We’re also sorry but not sorry for this. (The female’s mental and physical health matter. While she’s game to write ALL of the books… all work and no play makes her bitchy.)
We are sorry for disappointing you, but we’d rather do a little disappointment now in the form of a moved release date than release a disappointing book.
The female’s current writing pace is a stately thousand words a day due to being tired, foot injuries (she really needs to stop doing that), and real life other stuff making a mess of things.
But really? It’s been five years since she’s taken the holidays off without heavy workloads.
So, back to the schedule changes.
This is how 2022 is going to work.
Silent Stalker will release in March as scheduled.
Plaidypus will release in May.
Dirty Deeds 2 (with a Mag Rom Com title) will release in June.
An anthology with a short story will release sometime in the later half of 2022.
After the New Year, the female will be working on Silent Stalker at a steady but slow pace, and she will work on play projects as she wants however long she wants, each day. These play projects will release as finished with a short preorder period (if she feels like it.) Preorder periods will be between 6-12 weeks depending on her mood, the phase of editorial process when she’s loading in the preorder, etc.
The female will probably do a mix of Witch & Wolf and Requiem for the Rift King out of the gate.
Do not expect extra Mag Rom coms for a while. Female is tired and wants a change of pace. Vigilante Magical Librarians and Fox Witch will be worked on as play projects until she decides it is time to hurry up and finish them.
If you want an exact release date for anything “I don’t know” applies.
Patreon will become more active starting in January, although the female is hoping to have two short stories done by the end of the year. Ask the Novella from Hell to play nicely, please.
Anyway, thank you for your support, humans. The female appreciates the chance to rest and breathe–and enjoy some time with the male. Guilt-free time, where writing is only done for fun.

Enjoy the holidays!

Holidays should be work-free zones. Holidays should also happen every year. A five-year gap between holidays is way too long. You deserve family (hubby) time as well as time to rest and get healthy. Your stories are amazing and worth waiting for. You have spoiled your readers by being so prolific but you deserve to take time for you. We can, and will, wait for your amazing stories.
Happy Holidays, RJ. I hope you rest and relax. Enjoy your private time with your amazing husband (and, of course, the fur-babies).

Merry Christmas and a Happy, HEALTHY
New Year!!!!!
Everyone needs down time or, what’s the bloody point in life?
Have a quiet and great time w/ your hubby and ignore all of the nay sayers! ?

We can wait. Health, both mental and physical, is far more important. Enjoy your time off.

I got the notice from Amazon today and thought good, RJ was able to get Amazon to play nicely, for once. I’ll just get my RJ fix by re-reading the books I already have.

I’m glad you’re taking care of yourself. Thank you for all the lovely books you write for us.

I hope you and your hubby enjoy the holidays together. You certainly deserve it. (Don’t we all?) When I saw the new pub date, I nodded and said, “Birthday book!” This way, you get your birthday book and your holidays, win-win. Merry, happy, etc.

Thank you for writing!! If you need a break, so be it. Play a bit more with the kitties, write what you want, get a mental health break… Who doesn’t need one of those these days?!
Merry Christmas & truly hope you have wonderful holidays!!

Really happy you’re having the Rift King in play, because frankly it is my favorite of all the books I’ve had the chance to read of you!! Also, enjoy the holidays!! ’cause I can’t bregudge you anything with all of the joy you have given me, (Also, would not even begin to think to begrudge, since your life is yours to live it, and it is my pleasure you write such lovely books)

Have a great holiday!?

While I’m glad you are taking this time to enjoy the holiday season, as a fan, of course I’m sad about the delay. I don’t know if this is a romcom, but do hope you are or will be in the mood to work on the greatly anticipated trickster king (long live Mr Wiggles!).

Have a wonderful holiday. You deserve it!

Please tell the female to enjoy the time with the male. We are good to wait. I know the saying “Good things come to those who wait” Sucks when I have no patience but the female never disappoints so I am working on that. Lol. Have a good break!!

Hey, you are more important than books. You come first! Please rest and enjoy yourself for a change. I always enjoy rereading your books and I am sure others do too.

I am glad you are taking the time to take care of yourself. I hope your holidays are happy and your health improves with time off from the demands of your career.
Do not ever be sorry for taking steps to put yourself (and your husband, and your furbabies) first!!! Too many times women are wrongly encouraged to satisfy everyone but themselves and that needs to stop.
UP IN SMOKE was marvelous and RUNAWAY is almost out; you’ve already given us so much to savor. We can and will wait.
KFriton
Good for you!!! You guys need to be able to live your lives too! ???

Waiting is such sweet sorrow! Please take care, stay healthy, and have fun!

I am so glad that you are taking this time off! You need to have an enjoyable life outside of your writing. I enjoy all of your books and I can wait longer for your next release!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

b&n perma-borked my glowlight3 with the last OS update and this book dragon is a sad puppy. Their not-so-supportive number sends you to the Philly Islands where they know 2 things. How to offer unhelpful fixes that don’t and how to say they’re sorry (the most sorry group I’ve come across in a while). As I’ve been unable to access my nook books for months now the good news is that when my replacement glowlight3 comes off backorder, there will be several great books to dive into. /g/

As a temporary measure, you can install on any iOS or android device! There is an e-reader that runs android I’m eyeballing because e-ink but ANY book vendor… I can write that off for work, too. Problem is… $500. (I’m dying inside.)

Thanks for the info. At the present moment I’ve found and am leaving my contact info for the corporate head of P.R. One would hope that she will respond to her msg. Loosing touch with my hoard causes a mental rash. {g}

After the 4 and a half years it took me to convince AZ SSI that I was really disabled, I found out the the thugs the bank had lock my place when I took my wife to the hospital paid themselves by selling the contents (including my 100,000+ book library {also book dragon data}). Argh!
Once I’ve had a chance to talk with P. R., my $30 glowlight4 fix should have me in a position to properly enjoy your work (as it deserves).

While I’m sad to wait it will help me work on patience! lol Seriously, it’s definitely time for you to take a holiday and just enjoy your life! I do so love the Mag Rom Coms and the Magically Hellish Comedy (with a body count), but for me, they are worth the wait until you’re ready to write them.

I, myself, am rather fond of the “I don’t know” response. It is rather useful. 🙂 Merry Holidays! enjoy your break!
Sanda
As much as I enjoy your books, I can wait, I am glad you think about you and your family. Enjoy your break. Happy holidays!
Caroline
Oh, thank God!!!! I’m trying to get caught up, but I can only read so fast, and then I found the Susan Copperfield and Bernadette Franklin books on Hoopla, and I’m trying to fit those in, too. Thank you for giving me a little breathing room! Take your time, because I don’t want you to ever burn out! You brighten my day and I would be so sad if there’s nothing left of yours to read!
Take care of yourself and have a great holiday season!

Hope you have a joyous holiday vacation. Have a healthy and happy New Year. Take care of yourself.

Good for you! Me time is so important! Your true followers understand and will happily wait for you. If you don’t take care of yourself, how are we suppose to get your wonderful books. Have a wonderful holiday!

Have a wonderful, happy and relaxing time with you hubby.

As someone who preorders the females books. I’m proud of her. Knowing when to say ‘I need a break’ is very important! Both for any persons health and for their health of the relationships in their lives including partner, friends and family! Well done Female. Have a fantastic holiday! Hope you get snow if that’s what floats your boat. Think of none of us! Enjoy your freedom. ?

I’m sorry life is such a challenge for you right now. Take a break and enjoy the holidays just like a lot of other people! I absolutely adore your Kitty updates. It’s a purrfect way to give us updates that can bring a smile.

Best wishes for a great Christmas my furry friends. No worries on the delays, Moms health always takes priority. Please give her extra snuggles in the coming year and encourage her to play everyday. Ear scritches for you all 🙂
