I’ve been wading through the error report form, and wanted to just do a quick heads up. When reporting typos, please, please, please make certain you include the title of the book. I have written (and published) over 50 books now, and it becomes very interesting if you forget the title of the book. (So far, I’ve gotten lucky with minimal opening and closing, but part of that was only due to having reread one of those books recently.)
Also, while I know some of you can’t stand regionalisms and different dialects used in the US, reporting them as errors isn’t going to get me to change them. (Dropped to bes are done on purpose, along with some other dropped words, especially for books taking place in the upper eastern seaboard.)
I get you mean well but it’s been an adventure removing the error reports that aren’t actually errors and the reporter just doesn’t like how I wrote the line. I am not going to be showcasing any examples because OBVIOUSLY that’s not cool, but yeah. A reminder that people have different dialects, especially in a country as large as the United States. English is not a static language.
For those of you who have limited the typo report tool on the site to actual typos… you are the BEST. Thank you! (Now I can just wish it took less time to correct, compile, and prep for uploads.)

At least you haven’t made the cardinal sin I’ve seen so many authors make: Using “discrete” when they mean “discreet” 😀
You mean by deftly avoiding the use of either word unless I absolutely cannot avoid it, in which case I spend an hour on a single sentence trying to make sure I used the right one?

I live in Canada and the spelling of some words are different from the US. As spelling of some words in the UK to North America. ‘tire’ vs ‘tyre’ for example.
I would never consider those ‘typos’ like so many people do. It’s as if their ‘English’ is the one and only!

Yeah, when that happens on Amazon’s reporting tool, I just reject and tell them I’m not spelling things in the way their country prefers solely for that purpose, not making the change. And when it shows up in my form… I reject the change and quietly move on.
Because I ain’t paid enough to deal with that level of stupid XD
I could not imagine reporting what I considered typos to an author. Bless you for your patience in dealing with this, and thank you for your books which have given me so much joy.
