This is not normally something I consider doing, but things change, etc, etc. I won’t go into details beyond “I’m changing things up and destressing myself at the same time.”
Would you be all right if Vampire of Montana was released in April instead of May?
Why?
I want to be lazy, Vampire is with the editor now, so it will be ready easily for April, and I just don’t want to deal with two books at once. Dropping Vampire early is a destresser. I DO love doing dual releases on my birthday, but after spending most of December sick as hell with RSV, I’m heavily reevaluating how I handle things.
BUT, I also understand how budgeting IS a serious issue, and unexpected “oh this book is coming earlier” can be a money issue.
So, pitch in. Would an April release date for Vampire be something you’re okay with?
(And no, Doggone Mess is NOT up for April release consideration. I’m not done working on it yet.)
Thanks!
Janet Hill
Early releases are fine by me

I adore your writing. Drop your books whenever is best for you. I’m buying them whenever they are ready. I can’t see any of your proper fans being upset they get any of your fantastic content early. I also think if they drop later your fans should get by now that life happens. You are brilliant, keep being the you that is happy and healthy please ?
The Sneaky Kitty Critic
Not all of my fans are in good financial positions, and they save for months for a single book. So, I try to account for them as much as possible. I don’t want somebody’s bank account bouncing because I wasn’t considerate and gave plenty of warning.

Please, yes. I would be thrilled to get it early, and the book budget can stand the strain. Also, please de-stress. Recovering from any sickness is really rough, and something simple like this (no extra work on your part) that can smooth out your overflowing daily task list, should definitely be followed up on.
Ammy
Vampire of Montana would be wonderful in April! Appreciate all you do for your fans ?
Cory
Two months with books instead of just one? That sounds pretty awesome. And if it’s less stressful for you that’s a bigger plus in my opinion.
kommiesmom
I am fine either way. I’d love to have the book sooner, but I can live with the schedule…
Thanks for the chance to comment.
Karen
I love to get books earlier than expected. Just do whatever is best for you!
Fran
I’m very happy to get a book early as long as it’s not causing you problems. I thank you for asking. I’ll be happy to see Doggone Mess in May as well! ?
Ingrid ( Ingy ) Schijven
Hello RJ, either one is fine with me
manth42
While budgeting CAN be an issue sometimes, getting a ‘this book is releasing a month earlier than planned or two months from now’ is workable. It’s when I’ve budgeted for a book in two months and I get a ‘surprise – it dropped today’ that it wrecks havoc with my plans. So yes, go ahead and release early. I look forward to reading it.
The Sneaky Kitty Critic
Yep, I HATE when this happens to me, and I tend to stop preordering books from authors who do it. It screws with my budget. I want to give plenty of lead time. But yeah… this is exactly why I asked.
Elizabeth
Earlier is fine with me, no problem updating my book budget. Bottom line is whatever is less stressful for you.
Shyann Hutchinson
It would actually make things easier for me.
Kyle Belliston
Earlier works for me. Thank You
Carole Palmer
I’m good with whatever works best for you. Love the idea of getting it a bit earlier than planned though!

Barbara Murphy
I had just checked on Vampire of Montana a few hrs ago… so to find that it’s moved up a month is just awesome! So for me, I’m eagerly waiting Vampire of Montana, Shadowvale, Doggone Mess, etc.

Hi, I would love to get vampire of Montana early, I will admit the Royals are my favourite series of yours .take care and stay safe. Kath
Libby Gangemi
April, Yay!
Sheila
You are the creative genius. What works for you works for me. Release early or release late, your call. I live with an author and understand “thing’s change”. Just don’t stop writing/publishing. That would cause me “great sadness”.
Susan
I have no problem begging for money for books from my family so drop it whenever it is good for you.
Janice Workman
Anytime I am able to receive one of your books at an earlier-than-expected-date, I’m delighted!! Go for it!
bookswhiskeycats
I agree with whatever destresses you, and helps you recover from the December illness!
Kristine
I’m happy to get your books whenever I can. Early, late, 3AM on the moon…..I’m lucky enough that my family isn’t big on ceremonies, so my fun purchases in a year are basically added together as Birthday/Christmas.
Sue
Yes
Arianna Fulthorp
You are one of my most prolific authors, and top of my list for rereadability. I will take what I can get when I can get it, and if I have to make an extra trip to the food bank, well at least I’ll have something to keep my mind off it!
Tim
Release it whenever it’s ready, I’d rather a later great read than a rushed ordinary one.
JULIE A BLAKELEY
Whatever you need to do is fine.
Javahead
By all means, destress (rather than distress!) yourself. If anything, early release is a plus for me, so if it’s better for you I certainly won’t complain.
Collette
You take care of your self , early is fine . Get healthy so you are your best you can be .. set up comfy pillow fort stocked with snackie snacks , good drinks and warm blankets.
Mainnalle
Early releases are never a problem. Go be a little lazy.
Ashley
I would love an early release
Melissa Ann Horn
I am easy, either way. You need to take care of yourself. Anybody that can’t afford it in April, (maybe me), can stick it on a wish list and buy when they can afford it.
Tiffany
I am very excited by the early release; I just read all of States after finally being able to finish Magical RomCom.
Purely for clarification (no stress intended), will Vampire still have a Payhip link? Or would it now be available as a Patreon charged post for the novel-only group?
The Sneaky Kitty Critic
It will be done through Patreon as normal.
Tiffany
Awesome! That’ll be great?
