For those of you who are unfamiliar with Kobo Plus, it is essentially a service similar to Kindle Unlimited with a few important differences:
1: Authors are not required to be exclusive to participate.
2: Authors are paid by time spent reading the book versus pages read. (So, if you want to take your time and savor a book, that’s wonderful! Authors are actually rewarded for this behavior.) The math is complicated, but I make good money off the Kobo Plus service, and it’s one of my more reliable payers.
I love Kobo and Kobo Plus.
All of my titles are enrolled in Kobo Plus. I do believe all the audiobooks are also enrolled in Kobo Plus, so if listening is your jam, you can read my titles that way as well.
Yes, I’m paid less when you make use of Kobo Plus, but it’s a friendly library-like system that makes my books accessible to people on a budget. I’m also treated fairly by the vendor, and I have never had them yank money away, bar me from selling my books elsewhere, etc.
In short, I’m very happy with my relationship with Kobo! (They also make my favorite e-book reader. Sure, it’s pricy, but it’s such a nice little device.)
Disclaimer: I won the e-reader as a prize from people liking the Hypnos cover so much! Squee!! It’s such a wonderful e-reader, though… and I have gone on to buy other kobo devices. I just like them.
You can read on your phone and on android-based devices as well, so you aren’t heavily restricted.
P.S.: Moon Tamed will be coming out in audiobook very soon. It’s in the final stages of production and distribution now.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful day.
