I made a rather notable mistake on the Barnes & Noble upload. Please don’t preorder on B&N yet; the current file will be taken down and deleted. (I got distracted by IRL at a poor time, and didn’t fix the preorder date.) I will correct this tomorrow/the next day, as soon as the system allows me–and I will post here when it’s ready for you to preorder. (Sorry about that.)
However, for the Amazon and Apple readers, here are links you can use to preorder this book.
Read this very carefully, pretty please: I will be live dropping the second book of the Sandra / Jonas trilogy (the sequel to Client from Hell) whenever the hell I finish it. It is going to be in my active line up as soon as I finish moving in April. As such, you can expect two books in this world in close proximity.
A live drop is a book that is released without a preorder cycle. One day, I will just announce there is a book and where you can download it.
Please, please, please limit my stress regarding this universe by not asking me what date this book will be released. I do not know. I’m just letting you know that you can expect it shortly on the heels of Dragon Her Heels.
Assuming I get enough work done on the Failed Colony expansion, I will also be releasing that on December 23, 2025. However, I wanted to guarantee a release for the holidays, and I have decided that the book I am guaranteeing will be Dragon Her Heels.
This is my typical Christmas release, but this holiday season, I will not be working on Christmas, so I’m releasing on Tuesday the 23rd instead. In spirit, it’s my Christmas release.
So, onto the deets about the book:

Crystal Culling never should have moved to Lake Hancock. Her real estate agent had warned her: the property on the end of Fox Hunt Drive was cursed, and if the Dragon of Crystal Lakes ever roused from his slumber, she’d be the first to be sacrificed to his appetite.
Her new neighbors, upon discovering she’d bought the lakefront planation manor, brought pies along with their condolences and sympathy. According to the nasty old lady down the way, no sensible dragon would want a woman with toxic green eyes, more than one piercing in her ears, and jet black hair the envy of any goth.
The day a castle emerges from the lake’s depths, Crystal realizes the town’s legends and myths are more than mere stories.
Unfortunately for her, everyone got the stories wrong. Rather than a snack, the dragon needs an executive secretary. As the owner of the plantation, his affairs, including his castle and his lack of a love life, become her problem.
But what Crystal doesn’t know dumps her into one hell of a mess: where the Dragon of Crystal Lakes goes, trouble surely follows. If she doesn’t find a way to rein him in, he might just end up taking over the world—and she’ll be his first conquest.
You can preorder now at Amazon and Apple. (All I want for Christmas is USA Today? Because I would like start 2026 on a good foot. I could use some love, not even going to lie.)
As USA Today is probably not in the cards, I am accepting love in the comments below.
Fun fact: this was the very first cover Rebecca Frank cover I snagged a very, very long time ago. So if you’re curious as to why the cover seems to have a bit of an older style, that’s because this is a very old cover!
😍🥰😍 This looks like fun. Thank you for writing it. Much good luck with the move.
Oh I am so happy to hear this. I have greatly anticipated this book. Thank you Thank you Thank you
Best of luck with the move & TYVM for the Xmas treat, it’s on order (NOT B&N!)
Thank you very much! So looking forward to next Christmas!
Good luck with the love and all.
I’m already smitten with this book, just based on the blurb. ♥️♥️♥️ I shall try to wait patiently, while asking the universe to treat you kindly this year.
Love your books. Love your writing. Looking forward to the new book! Thank you!
Thanks for the Christmas release, looking forward to time in your universes. A dragon and possibly many Veloc, yay! Hoping the move goes well.
LOVE the cover and the story sounds like fun! Thank you for not changing your covers to the current trend. I absolutely abhor the new flowery looking covers that tell me nothing about the book.
I also dislike them and don’t buy books with them because I can’t identify genre from looking at the cover. I am sure there are many great books with those covers, but I won’t be finding them because of their covers.
Ooooo. Can’t wait. Just did my preorder. Thank you in advance!! 💜💜
Best Christmas present ever!!!! Thank you.
I’m so excited, thank you, thank you. I hope you will have a print copy so I will be able to read it. I’m so happy for this book.
Sounds delicious. And that is a perfect cover.
I love the cover and the story seems like a great one!
Dragon! Castle! Anticipation …😍
I’m so excited! It sounds like I will have four new books to gloat over and loss myself in their pages. Thank you, thank you, and good luck with the move.
Squeee! Is it Yuliss? Oh I hope so. Lovely news to start the week, thank you
Yay, though to be honest, I look forward to all your books. A love;y Christmas present. Thank you.
What a Christmas present!!!! Three books from my favorite author — a new MRC and two new books soon after. Woo hoo! Thanks, RJ!
PS
I adore the quilt squares beside each comment.
They are providing me with ideas for my next quilt.
Squeeeeee! I always love your books! And every time I see a new book coming out from you, I get super excited!!! GL with the move and everything! PS I love the cover! Don’t care it’s old as it’s still very pretty and besides, dragons?? Squeeeee!!!!!
This book sounds like so much fun. I think it will be a long year and it’s good to have something to look forward to.
