Greetings! Welcome to 2025. May we navigate through this year without much fuss and with more joy than grief.
I want to say I’ll be brief, but there is a lot of stuff to cover, so I’m getting to it.
Audiobook Updates: all but one or two audiobooks have been uploaded to all vendors. The stragglers will be dealt with later. A Guiding Light has been proofed, and the changes are with the narrator for completion. I expect 1-2 months before it is sent over to the Patreon store, and then another month or so before it reaches retail.
You can purchase Shadowed Flame on Audible here. You can also purchase Shadowed Flame over at Kobo.
As a reminder, because A Guiding Light is a rerecording, it is not a perk of the Sirens group. It will be posted to Patreon exclusively for the first few weeks of its life because $10 per sale is much better than $2 per sale. (This is the best balance of me getting paid versus it going to full retail in a hurry.) I know some of you are impatient for the audiobook, but this method let’s me keep producing them because that royalty difference is significant… and I use those royalties to produce future audiobooks.
As such, I ask for you to please be patient.
You can access the Patreon shop here.
Yes, my audiobooks are part of the Kobo Plus program, and I highly encourage people to make use of this subscription service, especially for those who are on a fixed income or a tight budget. Yes, I get paid fairly, and I choose to be in this library system. Note: link goes to the science fiction and fantasy category, which is where most of my audiobooks live.
Print Edition Updates: Experimental Voyage is now available in print from Amazon in the 6×9 trim size. Please note that while I’m not a fan of Amazon’s print services, and feel it’s a lower quality print job compared to Ingram, Ingram has barred me from being able to do both trim sizes through them. The 4.25×7 (mass market) size will be available in the upcoming weeks. (Let’s just say the process of getting things set up in Ingram is a bit of a monster.)
A bunch of other books have also been brought into print editions, although I’m not done this project yet.
Kobo Preorders: Until further notice, I will not be doing kobo preorders due to the risk of readers getting a locked placeholder file. Until they can guarantee their system will process updated files, I will not be loading anything into Kobo until the file is production finalized. I’m sorry about this, but it was a living nightmare fixing Partner in Crime, and I do NOT want this to happen again.
Current preorders:
- Booked for Theft: Amazon | Apple Books | Barnes & Noble
- Prince of New York: Amazon | Apple Books | Barnes & Noble
- Grave Intentions: Amazon | Apple Books | Barnes & Noble
I have already selected my December 25, 2025 release, but I will not be announcing which book it is until April or May.
The next Magic, Mayhem, and the Law in Precinct #153 book is entitled “Game On.” As part of my Book Project 2025, it’s in the lineup to be worked on, and if I HAPPEN to have it ready in time, I will do a super brief preorder and release it in November. Otherwise, it will be a first or second quarter 2026 release.
Jace will be back in the saddle, and the race is on.
After discussion with my various peeps, the Magic, Mayhem, and the Law series will be a total of ten books with the series dealing with the overarching mystery started in Dead Weight.
This is a slow burn mystery/thriller with magic and mayhem, so if you are expecting a conclusion to the main storyline early, you will be disappointed. If you like procedurals that are a closer reflection to life, including the ups, downs, and mistakes, then this is probably going to be up your alley.
Yes, I will be doing a spinoff series set in Miami for this world.
Let’s just say you’ll be getting a whole new glimpse of this world in this spinoff series, although certain characters from the Magic, Mayhem, and the Law in Precinct #153 might show up.
And no, the lead character of this is not the commissioner’s daughter.
If you have no idea what I’m talking about and read the Amazon version of Partner in Crime, you can find the pilot for Whispers in the back of any non-Amazon version.
Amazon’s rules regarding errors bar me from including bonus short stories in the back of their books. (Their error reporting tool is the reason why, and this is solely in Amazon’s hands; Amazon has set their policy against unpolished works, and I am NOT polishing the bonus / fun project inclusions. They are intended to be ‘as is’ and are a bonus, not the primary product. As such, I cannot put them in the Amazon copies.)
And no, I will not be collecting these pieces and making them available to everyone everywhere. They’re bonuses to the books they were originally in. If you would like to read them, I recommend that you make use of the public library system and request the books and read them that way. You can also get a kobo plus subscription and read them that way.
I apologize for the inconvenience, but I’m not sorry for having made this decision.
As a reminder: members of Patreon in the $10 (Otters) and higher tiers receive copies of the book (with bonus material) several days before the retail versions drop. If you are comfortable with sideloading the books, this is the place you want to be! The Patreon store has the retail version uploaded the morning of the book’s release.
I’m pretty sure I’m forgetting something, but this got most everything, so I’m going to call that good enough for now.
Happy reading!!

Thank you for mentioning Kobo Plus. I recently discovered it and love being able to play so many audio books.
I love the Magical Romantic Comedy series and have been reading (listening) all your alternate identities!

Is there a place with the full list of vendors for ebooks and audiobooks? I’d love to buy from non-Amazon/Audible to take my business away from predatory (also stupid) businesses. And I think I’ve managed to get things to work converting other formats to work on my Kindle Oasis (which was the biggest roadblock, the exclusivity format hell). I’m probably doing it wrong and that’s why I’m having trouble finding things on Bookfunnel, but I also don’t know if that’s the best place to buy (for your end). Is it your Patreon? It’s gonna take a while for me to replace copies with my budget but I think it’s worthwhile, especially for future purchases.
Also I was already pissed with the ‘error’ reporting, but man could I entertain you with my Mom’s rant when I told her about the system. She’s a electrical engineer/programmer, was a manager for most of her career, and my Dad’s backup for over 20 years on controls programming, so she has some real OPINIONS, lol.

I don’t use Bookfunnel as a service for selling books right now. I’m working on the page that has the master lists of books by vendors (but it’s a huge task.)
Kobo, Barnes & Noble, and Apple Books are your best bests for non-Amazon vendors if you want to be able to just easy grab books and read in an app. Smashwords and the Patreon stores are the best options if you know how to sideload books into your device.
And yeah, that error reporting tool is a menace.
