Okay, get the squealing, etc, out of your system before I dive into it. The headline is not a lie. It’s not a “this is happening tomorrow” thing, but it is a “this is happening” thing.
I’m comfortable with working on the series without feeling like I would be doing harm to the Chinese-American community. (And to my Asian-American friends, I’m sorry. Truly, I am. Considering the subject matter of book two in the series, I could not in good conscience release that book in the societal environment in which we lived.)
However, and this is the part that will make some of you sad: because the Seeking the Zodiacs series is a total of 13 books involving Olivia and 3 additional books, I need to get a bunch of series finales off my plate.
I have picked the series that will be concluded before I begin working on adding Seeking the Zodiacs to the timeline.
Here are the series:
- Wolf Hunt (Witch and Wolf World)
 - Nature of the Beast (Witch and Wolf World)
 - Jesse Alexander (two books)
 - Lowrance Vampires (March 2026)
 - Hellishly Magical Comedy (with a body count) (two books)
 - Grave Affairs (early 2027)

All these titles are on my to-do list around current long term continuations and things that put food on the table. Once they are done, Seeking the Zodiacs will enter permanent rotation in with other pen names being completed.
Once these series are finished, the rotation is going to look a little like this:
- RJ Blain Title
 - GP Robbins Title
 - Susan Copperfield Title
 - Either an Audrey Greene, Leanne Hearst, or Bernadette Franklin Title

And no, there is no reason for panic, I’m just cleaning off the slate so I can focus on some other fun things I wish to do.
Play Projects written outside of standard business hours will continue to randomly show up in the order as the overtime playing decrees.
RJ Blain will be rotated between Seeking the Zodiacs, Magical Romantic Comedies, and Space Vixens.
Anything outside of these three are going to be in the Play Project category.
Currently, the series listed above should finish in either 2027 or 2028. (This is without killing me with an unrealistic work schedule; this is paced to be sustainable for my mental and emotional health.)
(And no, I will not compromise on this, nor is this plan up for any form of negotiation.)
I hope you all have a wonderful upcoming week!
Sounds good! Take care of yourself first! Love your work
Your schedule sounds reasonable.
Hi please note very happy with your “Plan of attack”, but to clarify the librarian books are only on the “Play” list and will only show up when ever and where ever you choose randomly…. right?
Correct. Book 3 did not perform up to “put food on the table” standards and goes into the play category, and as it has three books left in the series, it is not in the “finish this in a hurry” line up.
