I have been holding back the audiobook release of Experimental Voyage due to Patreon announcing a UI change. Why is this changing delaying the audiobook release?
All of the products in my store will need to be unpublished and republished into the new system. They opted against merging it. As such, until I have access to the new UI, which started rolling out on July 15, I don’t want to do any product launches from Patreon.
(People WILL get confused, buy the same product twice, etc, etc, etc. It will be a nightmare I do not wish to deal with.)
I asked my paying subscribers on Patreon for their opinion on if I should hold the release or move forward with retail, and I’ll see what the numbers say tonight and go with majority wins.
Patreon users in the Cindercorn/Spicy Ponies tiers will still receive their copy as normal, but only when it comes out on the Patreon store. (Doing them together saves me many issues later.)
I am also neck deep into working on Grave Intentions, which is continually insisting on being a difficult and challenging book to write, so I haven’t had time to work on the 150 Days to 100k project at all. As such, for those of you who ARE participating, keep on trucking and trying to write a little every day. (I’m writing daily, I’m just doing it on the pain in the ass book that is releasing in October.)
I will very probably do a recap post on how I’ve reapproached Rise of the Rift King, including a cover release of the title. (I just put in the request for cover art in with my designer this week.)
As we already have the rest of the series done for cover art, she just needs to follow our design guidelines for it and make it lo0k nice with the rest of the books, which is much easier than coming up with something completely from scratch.
Anyway, life is being stupid, so I’m going to get back into the trenches.
With luck, I’ll get access to the new Patreon UI sooner than later, but I’ll be back with news on if I’m just going to release this one straight to retail. (It all depends on what the Patreon subscribers vote for.)
Please enjoy this picture of my cat hiding in her carrier.

P.S.: I had a nightmare vet visit with them… first time in my life I’ve paid $125 per cat for the vet to just feel up their sides and tell me they’re overweight and should lose a little.
The vet did not check either cats eyes, ears, or hearts. The vet only checked the younger cat’s teeth because Princess, who attempted to PURR them into submission, had been labeled as highly aggressive and the coward ass vet didn’t even want to touch her.
And yes, I took action. I reported the clinic to the medical board for negligence.
And yes… I had even prompted the vet regarding Princess and her heart, as she has a history of having had a heart murmur.
The vet did not bother to listen to her heart.
I am beyond furious at this stage, but… yeah. Talk about a waste of money along with more rage than I really would like to deal with right now.
The one good thing is, there’s always another vet nearby. Vote with your pocketbook and go elsewhere. We would routinely use one (cheaper) vet for normal things like vaccinations and heartworm meds, and another (more expensive but deeper insights and excellent care) for when something seemed wrong. Hugs to your overweight and purr-happy kitties. (And you. Sounds like you need some virtual hugs, too.)
Yeah, they’re happy kitties, and well, I can’t say if they have health problems or not because the vet just wanted to upsell other services rather than care for my cats.
So damned mad.
The bad part is? This is SUPPOSED to be the excellent clinic. It used to be thorough, but not anymore…
Sorry to hear about your vet experience. I have two pups that have issues – anxiety for both, partially blind for 1, and severe allergies for the other. I’ve had much better success with a certified fear free practice for quality care.
Yeah, this is more of a lack of competency on the vet issue, which could happen at any clinic, including fear free ones.
The vet was the one scared of the cats. My cats were immaculately behaved and super friendly. The vet office just didn’t do their job.
