This is just a quick and dirty general update on what’s going on in the Blain Household.
First, when I’m not writing, I can be found playing World of Warcraft or quilting. Here’s my current progress on a blanket for a WoW gamer buddy of mine.

His favorite color is forest green.
On the writing front, I’m hard at work on Death Dance, which releases in March. (You can preorder it at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Apple Books. This is the currently planned conclusion of the Lowrance Vampires series. (It did not find much in the way of popularity with my readership, so I cannot justify opening any new threads.) Will I return to the Lowrance Vampires world? Maybe?? If the books actually pay off their bills and put food on my table, then I might do a duet or a trilogy to extend it, but as of right now, I’m planning on closing 99% of the threads with one or two tiny danglers here or there to provide me with a possible opening for continuation. (Nothing major.)
I am also actively working on Murder Floof. Currently, I’m hoping to release it at Christmas, but I’ve made the executive decision that should I finish it early, I’ll just drop it as a release. (Essentially, if I finish it before October, I’ll just live drop it. If I don’t finish by October, I’ll preorder drop it for Christmas.)
This book has basically zero chance of doing anything interesting like hit USA Today, so if it’s done well before the holidays, I’ll release it whenever it’s finished.
In other news…
1: Burn, Baby, Burn will be $0.99 until January 18th or so. Prices will begin changing over today.
2: I currently do not have a May 2026 release actually planned. I might try to get Failed Colony done in time if energy allows. I’m trying to be kinder to myself this year. (Last year was rough, especially when Dragon Her Heels went way over estimated word count.)
I’m already behind on Death Dance, although I have some hope of catching up/keeping to my schedule. Hope is slim, though, so very slim… 66,000 words is a lot of words to be over by.
3: I will not be doing any major trips this year, but I will be vanishing for a week here and a week there to enjoy life without the burdens of the internet beating on my shoulders. Patreon subscribers will be informed in a timely fashion on when these weeks will be. By timely fashion, I mean a few days prior.
(whispering, keep it secret, keep it safe…)
4: As a reminder, only Death Dance and Game On (Available for preorder at Barnes & Noble, Apple Books, and Amazon) are the only two guaranteed releases for 2026. Anything else that releases will be happy and pleasant surprises.
I hope your 2026 is a good one! I’m going back into the trenches. Death Dance is not going to be writing itself… how so very rude of it.
