Greetings,
It is 5:30 PM on Friday, May 9, 2025. I’m facing the wire for Prince of New York, and due to its length (just under 150,000 words), I’m going to be working until midnight getting this book loaded and prepped for release.
Simply put, with the move, I’m behind schedule, and I haven’t had time to do the bonus material I typically include with non-Amazon books. So, I’ll be doing some changes to how I handle bonus material moving forward.
1: not all books will have bonus material; should it, the bonus material will be first made available to Patreon subscribers of the following tiers: Otters, Sirens, Cindercorns, and Spicy Ponies with Bite.
After I have collected a Significant Number of Words of bonus material (I will likely aim for 200,000 words for a $9.99 price tag at retail), I will gather it all into an anthology and publish it; unlike the Patreon submission, the anthology will undergo editing. Patreon will be the sole place that receives completely unedited works. (The anthology releases will be grammar and typo checked, but any inconsistencies, factual errors, etc, will be left intact.)
2: the bonus material found in previously published works will be made available in the published version of the anthology. This will allow Amazon buyers to gain access to the material eventually.
Patreon subscribers of the above tiers will be given a complementary copy of the anthology (an exception from normal anthology rules.)
For those of you who will surely ask: Patreon Subscriptions, the Patreon Store, and Smashwords remain my best paying vendors, with Barnes and Noble and Kobo coming in hot on their heels. Apple Books and Amazon pay the least (as I have to access Apple books through a distributor due to their rules, and Amazon charges ‘file transfer fees’ for book distribution on top of their base royalty cut).
Sorry for the short notice on this change!
The bonus material for Prince of New York will be a character sketch from the lead character of Winter Paradise, a Royal States novel with a holiday theme. No, Winter Paradise is not next after Prince of New York, I just have been thinking about it and chewing on the lead character for a while, and I’m in a good mental place to start playing with her.
(New Waters, featuring Eddie as the lead character, is the book set to follow Prince of New York.)
The next Susan Copperfield book to release will be an Agents of the Royal States novel, and I don’t know which one I’m doing next. (Sorry.)
For the last bit of news, Spicy Ponies with Bite are getting a tier exclusive read along of Whispers: Magical Mysteries of Mundane Miami by G.P. Robbins. There is no set schedule for this, as it’s being done completely on the side and is not part of the publication schedule as of yet, but this is a perk exclusive to their tier.
Cindercorns will continue to get their sneak peeks of upcoming books in the publication circuit as usual, so please don’t panic.
Sorry for the disappointment, inconvenience, etc, etc, etc. I’m now running back to my proofreading cave to finish implementing the editorial commentary from my proofing editor.
Hugs appreciated.
Please accept this photograph of my newborn California poppies as compensation. They showed up this morning.

Or, perhaps, a photograph of a very happy Zazzle getting to cuddle into bed? Don’t question the paper towels, please… (I was dusting in the bedroom and tossed the roll onto the bed, and then my very tired self was like this bed looks mighty comfortable… and then I became a bed for Zazzle. Funny how that works…)

Prince of New York releases on May 16, my birthday. I will not be available for anything. My spouse is taking me on an ADVENTURE.
P.S.: I will post my stuff for the release in the early morning before going on my ADVENTURE. And then I will be adventuring.
Thank you for your understanding.
The happiest of birthdays to you!
Thank you!!
Thank you for the update. I was born on May 16 as well, and am looking forward to a princess for my birthday.
Dazzle is gorgeous. My Lula is also a strongly colored calico, but with long hair. Thank you also for the gift of your talent. I have tried all the series, and while I have my favorites I appreciate your attention to detail in all your books, your characters and spirit. Enjoy your May 16 adventure. I shall be celebrating with my nine year old granddaughter. She is also a May 16 child.

Hugs aplenty for you, and best wishes for a great birthday adventure! I’ll be spending my day happily reading Prince of New York (plus minimum interaction with reality). Thank you for writing great stories.
Cannot wait to read the book. I love the series. In fact, I love most of your books. ANd Zazzle is beautiful!
Happy early birthday!!!
I hope you enjoy your adventure with your hubby.
I know I will be enjoying your new book 🥰
Many hugs sent your way. Have a wonderful birthday and a fine adventure!
Happy birthday
Happy Birthday to all the May born. Mine is 29th of May. I decided to reread the last 3 books on Rachel, Daphne and Olivia first. I’m looking forward to reading Ian’s story.
On other fronts, is it possible to get a map of how the US is split up in the Royal States world because I know some of the states are combined like Maine & Massachusetts. No pressure, was just wondering. I am totally in love with this world. ❤💞
search for Royal States map in the search box at the top of the website, it will show you the map.
