I’m going to attempt to be brief; my to-do list is ridiculous, and I need approximately 32 hours in today to get it all done. Oops!
1: My editor is home and recovering. Hooray!
2: Patreon Cindercorns and Spicy Ponies with Bite are starting the Dragon Her Heels read along today. Because people ask often, here’s a super brief recap of what Patreon is and how it helps me.
2a: What is Patreon? How does it help me?
Patreon is a subscription service that does super important things like pay my rent, fund the Royal States series, and fund audiobooks. (A percentage of all my Patreon earnings go to Royal States / Audiobooks, which is why there has been a reliable stream of both of these things.)
2b: What tiers do what?
Pixies get read alongs (chapter by chapter posting with commentary from me.) Otters (and higher) get copies of new books (single title only, no anthologies unless I state otherwise) several days before retail, and everything pixies get. Sirens get everything prior tiers get and an audiobook chapter every Tuesday and Thursday. Cindercorns and Spicy Ponies with Bite get everything Sirens do plus read alongs of works in progress while I’m writing them. Spicies who pop their mailing address into their messages may get random excess books, misprints, etc.
2c: Why subscription?
Patreon is the only source of income I have that is at all reliable. Everything else is based on who buys what when. Patreon supports me between the good retail months and does a LOT keeping the writing ship afloat.
3: To reaffirm things from previous posts:
3a: Grave Intentions will now release November 11, 2025.
3b: Dragon Her Heels and Death Dance will release on original schedule.
3c: I am working on several series continuations and conclusions along with some Royal States stuff. Expect mid to late year 2026 for next Royal States book. However, I do not know if I will be doing Winter Paradise or New Waters first.
Heart says Winter Paradise, so that is probably what is going to happen. After Winter Paradise, I will quite probably do two Agent of the Royal States books. I have a nagging feeling I need one of the agents for New Waters, but the agent doesn’t fit the bill for primary series. Cuz that’s how these things go.
4: I am considering in person appearances (AKA signings) in 2026. If you know of a convention that is open to sign ups, please leave a comment with the name of the convention and its location so I can look into it. Thank you! Ideally, they’ll be within 1-2 days of driving range of California, as I really would rather not ride in a germ tube right now.
5: I will be gradually transitioning to a new method of releases. I will be picking two books a year that are my guaranteed releases. All other titles will be done on a three month preorder when the book is close to completion (or completed, depending on my mood at the time.)
2026’s guaranteed releases will be Death Dance (March 2026) and Game On (G.P. Robbins) for a November 2026 release. While not in the ‘guaranteed’ category, I will be attempting to have Winter Paradise (Susan Copperfield) ready for a Christmas 2026 release because it’s thematic and I like it. (Winter Paradise’s release may be adjusted depending on my general fatigue levels and ambition.)
2027’s guaranteed releases will likely be a Mag Rom Com and the next Lilith Daniels book.
Note: I generally release between 4-6 books a year depending on length, so please do not panic. You will not be seeing a difference in book numbers, you will just be seeing fewer long-term preorders.
Thank you for your understanding on this matter.
Note: Kobo is still not getting a preorder until I have at least a rough draft I can upload into the system; should the rough draft version of the book go live, at least readers have SOMETHING to read rather than the notice that Kobo’s system utterly failed my readership again. Kobo’s edition of the book will be loaded in when the book is finished unless they do major overhauls of their system.
At least that way, I can exchange the rough draft for polished perfection. (And there will be a HUGE notice at the start of the book that Kobo is at fault for failure to release the correct version of the book.)
Anyway, that’s it, that’s all for the moment. I will be in my cave attacking my to-do list with great enthusiasm while burning a candle.
Right now, my candle is pink and it smells of happiness.
Once the pink candle is finished, I will be burning my “Overworked & Underf*cked” candle. Yes, that is the name of the candle. Its subtitle reads as follows: Smells like my ordinary week.
(I wish my ordinary week smelled as good as this candle, not going to lie.)
Candle’s maker is ForeverWick.
Yes, I like pretty and sparkly things.
Welcome home. So glad to hear your editor is out of the hospital!
Life is real, & chaos happens. I appreciate your updates that keep us up to speed. Yay for both you and the editor being home!

Oh no, 20 whole minutes from my home, I may perish trying to get there. (hahahah sorry couldn’t resist.) I emailed them, thank you!
