Hello, folks! I have a bunch of news related things for you, so please bear with me.
Playing with Fire and Whiskers on Kittens are on sale for $0.99 at most major retailers. Grab them while they’re hot. These books will not go back on sale again for at least 1-2 years, probably closer to 2 years.
Dragon Her Heels releases on December 23, 2025, and the price will be increasing to $7.99 due to the unexpected length (much longer, most unexpected) of the book. Please preorder now to lock in pricing at $6.99. (Seriously, I’ll earn back the extra expenses post release within a few weeks, so go ahead and save yourself the buck now, please. Consider it a present.)
I have been working with Bryan Cohen (Best Page Forward, Ad Agency and author coaching stuff) to help make a better and healthier business model for myself. One of the things we went through was a five year plan.
It’s solidified enough that I’m now willing to share general timelines on when you can expect books to roughly start going up for preorder. This will vary, but the order the books will be written in, on the main schedule, is set along with the timelines.
Note: do not panic if the books that you specifically want are not on the list. I have ‘Grace’ slots that follow every book where I work on play projects, and I am also working on play projects in the evenings and weekends however I see fit.
Some projects, including the novellas and short novels that are not yet done in the Magical Romantic Comedy series, belong to this category. Anthologies, in general, are done as play projects.
That said, I am eyeballing 2027 as the year I work on (and hopefully) finish a Mag Rom Com anthology.
This is how Grace works: I give myself a set amount of time for sick days, mental health days, just days off as needed, for each book I draft. This is starting with Death Dance. If I do not use the Grace days, and I do not feel like taking time off, I will work on the Grace novel. The Grace novel listed is also being worked on in weekend/evening slots (openly versus in sekrit like the new projekt.)
As such, the Grace projects will be rotated through until they’re finished. Prioritized story titles are in bold. Everything else is a passion/grace project.
Death Dance -> Releasing March 2026.
Grace: Failed Colony (R.J. Blain, Pets in Space Expansion Novel)
Game On (G.P. Robbins) for a November 2026 release.
Winter Paradise (Susan Copperfield) for a December 2026 release.
Grace: Purple Stained Sky
Grave Tidings (Lilith Daniels), release date unknown, but expecting early 2027.
Grace: Purple Stained Sky
Edge of Midnight (R.J. Blain, Wolf Hunt #3), release date unknown.
Grace: Sekrit Projekts
New Waters (Susan Copperfield, Royal States), release date unknown.
Grace: Skerit Projekts
Guilty as Hell (R.J. Blain, Hellishly Magical Comedy), release date unknown (This is very probably early 2028 releasing judging from my estimated dates.)
Grace: Crystal Rains
Stone Bound (R.J. Blain, Jesse Alexander 3), release date unknown.
Grace: ???
Herding Polecats (R.J. Blain, Mag Rom Com), late 2028 (Probable xmas release)
Grace: Yeah I got no idea, whatever, it’s grace, I do what I want
Agent of Hell (Hellishly Magical Conclusion, R.J. Blain, early 2029 release)
Death’s Door (Fox Witch 3, R.J. Blain, mid 2029 release.)
Stone Fall (R.J. Blain, Jesse Alexander #4, series finale)
Quake Zone (Susan Copperfield, Royal States, Late 2029 release.)
Catalina de la Corona #2, R.J. Blain
Grace: Wheeeee. (I will be taking almost 2 months off here, so it’s a very large Grace.)
All started Grace projects will be finished following this grace, IF they have not already been finished, which include but are NOT limited to:
- Crystal Rains
- Sekrit Projekts 1-3
- Purple Stained Sky
- Year of the Dragon
- Murder Floof
- Failed Colony
After all this stuff is done, Zodiacs will be resuming on an 18 month rotation. (AKA, every release will be timed to be 16-18 months following the previous until I am down to 5 main series, in which case it will increase in frequency.)
This list is designed and intended to get a bunch of novels off my plate between now and 2030.
If the book you want is not on this open list, it’s in the grace/play/passion project territory.
If I happen to write faster, HOORAY. If not… no big deal. I’m a human and do not use ANY AI to help me with ANY portion of the process, and because I am a human, I am slow. I’m fine with this.
I am not a machine, nor do I wish to be treated as one.
Now, onto site maintenance: I will be doing a major revamp of the website coming up, including a purge of old content (particularly old scheduling posts, because people become VERY confused over posts from four or five years ago.) I am also going to be restarting the “come join me writing a book project” on a dedicated other website so people aren’t bugged by it (and it will be removed from this one.) I will let you know when this is set up and ready–and when I am ready to start over and try again. Life has been hard. Life is getting easier, which is good.
Anyway, I’m going to go take a break because I have a migraine and my medicines are only helping so much. I hope you have a wonderful rest of your week.
Yay for a better and healthier business model! That’s an extremely ambitious writing schedule, I can’t imagine why you think you write slowly. Regardless, thanks for sharing it with us.
AI can write a novel in less than five minutes. Compared to that, I write quite slowly. It was a comparison to tech some people are opting to use to “write” books
