Greetings, humans.
During routine checks of things, I noticed Booked for Theft has barely squeaked over 5,000 sales, which was the requisite number of sales for Booked for Arson to be added to the line up.
Promise made, promise kept. As soon as I finish drafting Death Dance, Booked for Theft will join the play project line up. Note: I will still be moving forward with the books that only have one title left having main slot priority in 2027 until all those are done. However, because Booked for Theft has hit the 5,000 sales I promised would be the trigger for Booked for Arson being worked on, it will be worked on. This is NOT promising a release date, just that I will be rotating in when I’m working on side and passion projects for its next release.
Considering that Booked for Theft released not quite a year ago, I’m very impressed! I genuinely expected it to take another year before it reached the 5,000 sales mark.
But there we are. As I’m a woman of my word, I shall be doing this thing!
It will just be slowly and around the main book line up.
When I reach the halfway mark in the book, I will even consider a preorder to lock in the “finish this damned thing” date.
Sorry for all the news lately, I’m just catching up on all the admin stuff, so news tends to breed due to getting a bunch of non-writing stuff done.
I hope you have a great weekend!
Thank you!
I’m thrilled that the last “Booked” novel is doing better than expected by you. I really have enjoyed the series and hope it continues for a while. At least for the next 2 1/2 – 3 years. The direction of this series has some parallels with our current situation in the USA. I understand and appreciate that it’s writing wasn’t intended in the way many people are taking it but it’s absolutely fascinating to analyze the series in context to current and past political events. Keep up the good work but more importantly stay healthy in all ways.
There are only two books left. (This is not open to negotiation.) I’ll be retiring that universe very likely because it just didn’t perform well enough in terms of sell-through. (And while it did better than expected, it only had a 30% sell through rate… and a healthy series has a 50-70% sell-through rate.)
I simply can’t justify doing anything else in this world/universe outside of the five books I set out to do, alas.
And the same general rule will apply for the finale of the series, although I’ll be kind to it and only require 4,000 sales because of how poorly it tends to sell-through.
I can’t afford to beat dead horses, alas.
I’m glad booked for theft has reached a sale level that means Booked for Arson. Is now within The range of being worked on. I do love this series. However as you said yourself your books need to make an income. I understand as well how difficult it’s going to be to write the next book in this series due to its unfortunate similarities with existing events in the US even though the first book in this series was written prior to these events . Please take care of your self your own health and well being is important.
It was NOT supposed to be a road map or guide! LOL
Yay! So happy to hear it’s in the lineup!
Thank you 😊
Loved Booked for Theft; looking forward to Booked for Arson. Currently rereading B. Franklin’s books on my Kindle..
I’m really happy that there will be another “Booked By” book. It periodically makes my favorites list. And many of the rest of your books are on that list too. (Along with Ilona and Faith.)
