I am looking at March to seriously settle in to get the book to the printer. I will be doing two versions of the book. My PA will be handling storage and delivery, and all copies will be signed. (Costs a little more per book, but the printer will send me the front page, I will sign them all, and then I will return them to the printer for insertion into the books.)
Here is how this is going to work. You can do one of the following:
You can sign up for this general interest form, which will be used rarely for contacting regarding special edition books. I will be giving your email to my PA, who will reach out to you regarding ordering the books.
Alternatively, you can sign up for my official mailing list dedicated strictly to Special Edition print books. All of my identities will be represented in this one list. Hardback and Paperback versions will be available of most (but not all) books. The Cindercorns Trilogy will have both a paperback and hardback edition made available. This list will ONLY email you about the special edition books. If you want to sign up for my general author newsletters, you need to do so here.
Note: these special edition books will not be available for general retail sale. Any leftover stock will be sold by my PA on consignment, and the goal is to keep as few extra copies as possible. While I will consider future print runs if there is sufficient demand, the reality is, I doubt there will be sufficient demand.
A non-special edition version of each of these books will be printed through Ingram (no sprayed edges, no fancy embossing on the covers, no ribbons, etc), although the interior content will otherwise be identical. Amazon will continue to have the original edition of the books.
Please note that I will not be doing a kickstarter or anything else of that nature. The process will look like this:
I will give my PA the list of interested people from the general interest form above, and she will contact everyone to get a count of the books required from that list.
I will be emailing the official mailing list with the purchase form/link for the book, however my PA decides to handle that element.
After everyone on those two lists has had a chance to place orders for their copies of the book, I will do a blog post with the purchase link, which will be available for roughly a week before I put in the final print numbers for the printer. While I will be ordering a few extra copies, I won’t be ordering many extra copies.(Storing the books costs me $$ on a monthly basis, so the goal is to sell out of the books as rapidly as possible.)
The printer will ship directly to my PA, who will handle packing and shipping everything to buyers.
I am looking at March for beginning the printing work for the Cindercorns trilogy, so you can expect to be contacted around then with the pricing of the two editions.
Patreon subscribers (of the $100 tier) with an active subscription in February or March, who have had three months of subscription, will be entitled to a copy of the hardback OR paperback special edition of the trilogy.
The Art of Keeping Dangerous Books will have a special edition version, as will all G.P. Robbins novels and Audrey Greene novels. (These are my personal favorites.)
Sorry to ask – but by Patreon subscribers do you mean Spicy Ponies?
Yes, only the $100 tier. I’ll make sure I edit it to be correct. (I’m exhausted!)
